Rental Problems? Landlord Hassling You? Divorce or Custody Question? Criminal Offence? Being Sued? Want to Sue Someone? Need a Document Notarized? Need an Affidavit Witnessed?

If you are looking for legal advice, the HSF has a solution for you. We can schedule a private one-on-one appointment with a lawyer in the HSF office on the North Campus (Room KX105).
Appointments are available Thursdays beginning at 2 PM. Please call the HSF (North Campus) at 416-675-5051 to schedule a meeting.

The lawyer will spend 5 to 15 minutes with you discussing your problem. He can give you legal advice if you have a legal issue but will not represent you with your legal matter. If appropriate, he will refer you to another lawyer, Legal Aid, the Lawyer Referral Service or a legal clinic if you want to proceed with your legal issue.

The lawyer can help you fill out legal forms.

HSF provides a number of legal advice pamphlets, fact sheets and flyers. Stop by the office and pick up any one or several as needed. Some of the titles include:

Can't Afford a Lawyer???
Ontario Legal Aid pays for a lawyer to assist people who can not afford a lawyer. Legal Aid determines whether you qualify based on how urgent or serious the problem is, and your level of income.

To apply for Legal Aid:

1. Call Legal Aid to find the office near you.
Telephone:
(416) 979-1446

2. Take some form of
identification.

3. Take the documents
relating to your case.

4. Bring proof of current
income and expenses.

5. Provide up-to-date bank
book or bank statements.
