As the official of over 18,000 full-time students, HSF continually offers a wide range of services and programs to Humber Students. The HSF is looking for an aspiring professional to join our Communications team, reporting directly to the Communications Director in the capacity of:


Publications Editor


POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The incumbent will provide Media support for all Humber Students’ Federation initiatives, which include helping to elevate awareness of corporate activities, event promotion, and programs offered to students.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for producing feature length stories and news briefs, copy editing articles, attending and reporting on corporate activities, event promotion and programs offered to students, as well as work with the Communications Director to ensure all production deadlines are met.
  • The successful candidate will also work closely with the Publications Writers to develop story outlines and assign articles and ensure the timely delivery and quality of articles

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Journalism, Communications or related/equivalent skills minimum 1-year experience.
  • Must possess superior writing skills, excellent editing skills, and proofreading skills, strong organizational skills, fact checking experience and strong interviewing skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects
  • The candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills, and be a team player
  • Punctual
