Title: Events Audio/Video Assistant
Position Type: Part-time
Location: North & Lakeshore Campus
Number of Positions: 1 per Campus
Job Summary

The HSF Events Audio/Video Assistant is responsible to support all audio/video components of HSF activities, which includes set up, operation and teardown of all technical equipment. The Events Audio/Video Assistant will also perform regular Events Assistant duties and during times of inactivity, they will assist in the HSF Events Office and will work under the direction and supervision of the Programming Director/Coordinator.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Audio/Video set-up and teardown for events that may include; public speakers or performers, full bands, DJ mixing, film/movie showings, and recruitment of student participation.
  • Also stage and skirting assembly, chair set-up, equipment set-up and assembly, equipment load-in for bands, displaying signs, gathering supplies such as food, drinks, prizes etc.
  • Responsible for setup and operation of Pioneer DJM 3000 mixer, Mackie 1402 VLZPRO Soundboard, Equalizer, microphones, instruments, and touch-screen controlled audio/video system.
  • Provide training to other part time staff and foresee overall operation of A/V equipment.
  • Keeping solid inventory of all audio/video equipment and making sure equipment rooms stay organized.
  • Other regular Events Assistant duties include; assist in the HSF events office at the front desk by assisting students, answering calls and performing minor office duties such as photocopying and typing. To assist HSF clubs, Program Associations and Volunteers as required. To recruit sufficient assistance from volunteers.

Job Requirements:

  • Sufficient technical knowledge for operating events audio/video
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, energetic, committed, hardworking and deadline driven.
  • Team player.
  • Detail oriented with strong time management and problem solving skills.
  • Flexible schedule and available for occasional evening events.
