Job Summary

As the official of over 21,000 full-time students, HSF continually offers a wide range of services and programs to Humber students. The HSF is looking for an experienced student to join our Humberlife team, a bi-weekly publication that is distributed to all three Humber campuses, in the role of:

Layout Editor

Position Summary

• Creating a design and template for each issue
• Editing photos
• Selecting appropriate and appealing pictures for stories alongside the Editor-in-Chief
• Creating a balance between photo and editorial content
• Making final changes to editorial content after layout is complete
• Relaying issues with layout or editorial content to the Editor-in-Chief
• Uploading all story content and photos to humberlife.com

Ideal Candidate

• Minimum 1-year design experience. Must be familiar with current print and web design programs (Quark 6, Illustrator, Photoshop and Wordpress)
• Must possess strong production and organizational skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Must be available to work extended hours on bi-weekly production nights
