Title: Junior Web Developer
Position Type: Part-time
Location: North Campus
Number of Positions: 1

Job Summary

The Junior Web Developer will lead in the maintenance, design and implementation of existing and future web applications for both the HSF corporate and Humber Life websites (www.hsfweb.com; www.humberlife.com, launching in September).  The Junior Web Developer will work under the direction and supervision of the Communications Director, and will be a key member of the Communications team.

Job Responsibilities

You will be expected to plan, research, maintain, code, test and deploy web projects including, but not limited to:

- static html websites and microsites meeting up-to-date CSS and web standards
- interactive flash animations and components
- e-newsletters and email-based campaign blasts
- multimedia presentations
- management of larger projects developed off-site (reviewing beta sites, working with interactive suppliers etc.)

 

You should have extensive knowledge of:

  • HTML(without the help of an html WYSIWYG editor)  and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
  • Flash, Action scripting, Java script
  • Web protocols and programming requirements
  • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat
  • Knowledge of W3C standards, cross browser and platform markup, and accessibility.
  • Macintosh and PC work environments

Desirements:

  • Experience in web site maintenance
  • Experience integrating front-end code with server-side technology on a dynamic website.
  • Use of Content Management Systems and Portals 
  • User Interface Design, Information Architecture or graphics design  
  • Strong visual design, layout and typographic skills.
