The Humber Students' Federation is a leader in promoting green initiatives throughout the Humber College community.
Some of the ways we've made Humber more green:
- Stainless steel Onebottles, sold for only $5
- Humber Earth Week, hosted by guest speaker Bill Nye, the Science Guy; a "Trashy Fashion Show" of clothing made of reused and recycled materials; and a bicycle-powered concert
- Fully fund the Humber Environmental Action and Awareness club
- 10,000 Acts of Green website at www.humberearthweek.com/acts
- Switched from paper Student Welcome Package to reusable USB keys
- A new environmentally-friendly office, from design to materials used
- Purchase $5000 of clean energy for carbon offsetting
- Cell phone recycling campaign
- HSF Used Book Market allows students to resell their old textbooks instead of throwing them away
Looking to get involved? Drop by the HSF office and let us know your ideas for reducing our carbon footprint.
