A hybrid of student government and non-profit organization.
Levels of student involvement:
- Executive Committee: President, VP Administration (Lakeshore and North), and VP Campus Life (Lakeshore and North)
- Board of Directors: Executive Committee, 15 School Directors and Program Representatives (one per academic school, per campus) who work together to create policies affecting the entire Humber community
- Approximately 65 Humber students employed in part-time work study positions
- The HSF employs nine full-time staff members who manage the daily operations of the organization

- Represent over 18,000 full-time students on three campuses
- Provide a comprehensive and extended health and dental plan
- Provide value-added services including a food bank, Used Book Market, free legal advice, dental clinic and on-campus pharmacy (as of September 2009)
- Provide food for 50 students through the HSF Food Bank
- Represent students on every major committee within the Humber community
- Advocate for of the student body and lobby the Government of Ontario through membership in the College Student Alliance
- Environmental initiatives including stainless steel OneBottle sales, planning and execution of Humber Earth Week, recycling campaign of used cell phones, etc.
- Partnership with Canadian Blood Services

- Provide over $100,000 in bursaries each year, $5000 in academic awards and $10,000 in entrance scholarships
- Contribute $120,000 to Student Services, for the Health Centre and Peer Tutoring
- Major supporter of IT initiatives on campus, including open access labs, wireless access in Residence and HTV
- Initial financial supporter of the Wireless & Telecommunications Technology students’ project to make voice contact with the International Space Station (ISS)
- Contribute $25,000 to Humber Radio to benefit students within the School of Media Studies and Information Technology
- $10,000 to the School of Creative and Performing Arts for a humanitarian trip to Mozambique for AIDS awareness performances
- Sponsor one child per campus through World Vision
- Collaborate with Humber administration on community funding projects

- Fund over 60 student-run clubs focusing on cultural, academic and social interests
- Run an array of events to entertain and educate students, including the annual gala, life skills workshop series, Big Brother, etc.
- Frosh week event attendance of approximately 4,500
- Contribution of $16,000 to fully fund Student Appreciation Award and Student Art Show
- Responsible for the publication and distribution of the student handbook and bi-weekly campus newsletter, Humber Life
- Hosted the first ever HSF student vendor day for Humber’s entrepreneurs
- Hosted provincial and federal election all-candidates debates
- Host annual children’s holiday party for Humber’s mature students
